Cennik MS SQL Servera

VS05 Pricing, Shipping PlansPosted 04:00 PM
Shipping dates for Visual Studio 2005 are becoming fuzzier at the same time the prices have become concrete. An unnamed spokeswoman is being widely quoted that the shipment timing will become clear after the next beta appears in the near future. As for the price, Microsoft announced Monday that Visual Studio 2005 will range from $49 for the Express Edition to $799 for the Professional Edition. The price tag for the Professional Edition increases to $2,499 with a premium MSDN license. Volume licenses for the Team System start at $3,191.

One minor note: Several Web sites reported that Microsoft missed a deadline by not shipping a beta of VS05 at our VSLive! conference. This rumor then got picked up by some news organizations as fact. We organize VSLive!. I can tell you that there was never a concrete plan to release a beta of VS05 at our conference.

One of the negative aspects of the blogosphere is the way wannabe Matt Drudge's make up nonsense, then their peers all point at one another reinforcing the assertions, acting as if the number of links a post gets relates to its veracity. It doesn't.
Last month, Microsoft announced pricing for SQL Server 2005, which is wed at the hip with VS05. Express Edition: Includes simple management capabilities. Free. Workgroup Edition: Includes support for backup log shipping. $3,899 Per Processor. Standard Edition: Features Fail-Over Clustering And Reporting Tools: $5,999 Per Processor. Enterprise Edition: Includes advanced business intelligence tools and data-mirroring capabilities: $24,999 per processor.
